Joyce Meyer

Whoever you listen to are they teaching the bible or the bible+ something else?
False teachers abound today as so many are focus on themselves and what can be monetarily gained by “becoming a christian” (True biblical teaching is salvation is about the Glory of God not man or getting things.). They seek out teachers who will tickle their ears and make them feel good. They play on the listeners emotions and desires.

The following is about the teaching and preaching of Joyce Meyers. Each error she holds to is answered using scripture foundations and has a biblical response to why what she teaches is wrong. It is not just a matter of a different interpretation of scripture, it is outright falsehoods that are being presented. Many today are sucked in to this kind of teaching that has roots from Oral Roberts. (I think)

If you are listening to Joyce Meyers then you need to carefully consider what is being taught. As listening to false teaching and knowing that something is not quite right is as serious matter
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge;
because you have rejected knowledge,
I reject you from being a priest to me.
And since you have forgotten the law of your God,
I also will forget your children

by Matt Slick
What does Joyce Meyer teach?

For the most part Joyce Meyer preaches a positive, biblical message that is of great value to many people. We applaud her desire to be biblical, to point women to godly submission and humility, to trusting God, being loving, to have value based in what Christ has done for us, etc. These are all good. However, there are some very significant errors that need to be addressed. Some of them are so bad that she is outside of biblical orthodoxy and must be considered a false teacher. Let’s take a look at what Joyce Meyer has said.

Following is a list of quotes from Joyce Meyer, along with responses.

Jesus stopped being the Son of God: “He could have helped himself up until the point where he said I commend my spirit into your hands, at that point he couldn’t do nothing for himself anymore. He had become sin, he was no longer the Son of God. He was sin.”

Response: This is heresy. Jesus did not ever stop becoming the son of God. Essentially what she is saying is that Jesus stopped being divine, the eternal son, second person of the Trinity. This is an attack on the very nature of Christ and it is a dangerous false teaching. Joyce Meyer needs to repent and retract this statement. There is no place in Scripture that says Jesus stopped being the son of God. She’s adding to the word of God and placing in the hearts and minds of listeners false doctrine.

Jesus was born again: “The minute that blood sacrifice was accepted Jesus was the first human being that was ever born again,” (

Response: This is just plain wrong. Being born again means to be saved from the wrath of God for a person’s sins (), to have a new birth (), and to be regenerated (). Mrs. Meyer is simply wrong biblically. Why does she teach this? It can only be because she has bought into many of the errors of the Positive Confession movement where it is sometimes said that Jesus lost his divine nature, went to hell, finished the atonement in hell, and was born again! This is a serious error since it implies that Jesus needed to be changed…

Jesus paid for our sins in hell: “He became our sacrifice and died on the cross. He did not stay dead. He was in the grave three days. During that time he entered hell, where you and I deserve to go (legally) because of our sin. He paid the price there.” (The most important decision you’ll ever make, by Joyce Meyer, second printing, may 1993, page 35)

Response: This is blatantly wrong. Jesus did not pay the price of our redemption in hell. He paid the price on the cross. It was finished on the cross when he said, “It is finished” (). Also, consider the following verses:
, “and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.”
, “having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us and which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.”
, “and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.”

And since you have forgotten the law of your God,

2:1 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. (ESV)

Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (ESV)

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (ESV)

30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. (ESV)

20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. (ESV)

14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. (ESV)

24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. (ESV)

These ppl have itchy ears and love to hear false doctrine because it tickles there fancy, and as soon as true believers rebuke their idols they 1) pull out unrelated topics, 2) try and point out some good things about there ministry and 3) totally ignore the erroneous teaching of any heretic. Deceiving themselves horribly.

Hummm, giving Joyce Meyer the same place as God Almighty? I think not she is of sinful mankind, no better than anyone else, nor worst off, but she needs to turn from her wicked ways of sinfulness and distorting The Lords Word and teaching others to do likewise. But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Let me first start by saying I beleive in the article made good points. But when I referred tot he wesbsite I cam aross a FALSE DOCTRINE MYSELF that I belive is COMPLETLEY FALSE AND WRONG. I am refering to the article about Joyce Meyers when you so balantly call her out on her MISTEACHINGS. Will you call yourself out on FALSE DOCTRINE…THe article talked about the law of GOD. his exact words and I quote ” Jesus removed the requirement of having to follow the Law in order to please God, established justification by faith, and thereby united both Jew and Gentile into one group in Christ.”

THAT IS SO FALSE IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE if what you are saying is TRUE which is not that means the LAWS and COMMANDENTS that GOD Established we dont have to FOLLOW….THAT IS FALSE and a lie by the DEVIL to keep people eyes BLINDED> When Jesus came to fulfil the law (i.e. obedience leads to life; disobedience leads to death) he did just that. Notice He didn’t say, that old law’s no good, don’t worry about it (i.e. abolish it); what he did, instead, was to come saying the law is good, and he is the fulfulment of it.

Thanks for the caps I guess that means you are yelling 🙂

I agree, and should note that I do not agree 100% with 100% of the content on Instead of seeking to interact or to check the bible yourself you find fault with something completely unrelated.
      Is her statements of :
Jesus stopped being the Son of God,
Jesus paid for our sins in hell,
      Jesus was born again

Biblical? No they are the worst kinds of errors that one could teach.
You can hear her yourself here saying some of these things.

      Joyce Meyers Teaching

Now if it does not bother you that she is not telling you the truth of the scriptures and knowingly you are following someone who teaches things not in the bible then you have a much bigger problem… that would be idol worship.
I dont write this to enflame you but to show you as a brother in Christ, you are being lead astray.

Please read the scriptures to see if these things are so. Talk to your pastor and ask him if Jesus was born again,or tell him your sure that He stopped being God somewhere as someone told you that.

Your comments are based on OLD, OLD recordings of Joyce, and you are trashing her for them 13 years later. Ever heard that bearing false witness is a sin, a Bozo? Or are you jealously motivated by Satan?? Retract this please!

Perhaps she should retract these statements publicly, if you made a mistake then say so as ignoring them one can only conclude that she still stands by them, regardless of what her followers think or say.
